NAHB Learning
Casualty Losses and Ability to Claim LIHTCs
- Registration Closed
Given the number of natural disasters that occurred during 2017, this webinar replay will provide the rules governing whether low income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) are allowed or disallowed when a project is out of service due to a casualty event. It will detail what factors determine the allowance or disallowance of LIHTCs and discuss timing issues that may mitigate the potential loss of LIHTCs.
Participants in this webinar replay will:
- Evaluate the impacts of claiming LIHTCs based on timing of the casualty event and the project restoration period
- Recognize differences in the casualty event rules for properties located within a Federally-Declared Disaster Area
- Gain insight regarding claiming LIHTCs after casualty events through scenarios and recent real-world examples
