During this webinar replay, Tom Ashley, the 2017 Homes for Life Single Space category winner and the 2017 NAHB Remodeler of the Year joins his colleague John Guillory of Expand, Inc. to detail the design challenges and solutions and explain why Ashley submitted their particular design for the 2017 Homes for Life Award. A robust question-and-answer session followed the brief case study presentation.

Tom Ashley, 2017 NAHB Remodeler of the Year, has over 20 years of remodeling experience in the Baton Rouge area, and founded his company, Expand, Inc. in 1999. Tom has been a member of the Capital Region Builders Association (CRBA) and NAHB Remodelers since 2000. He has served in local and national leadership roles for both organizations, including 2005 Chair of CRBA Remodelers Council, 2009 Chair of the CRBA, 2008 Chair of the Louisiana Home Builders Association and a NAHB Lifetime Director since 2006. Tom was the 2016 NAHB Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist of the Year and 2016 CRBA Builder of the Year. 

John G. Guillory, CAPS, CGA,

General Manager, Expand, Inc.

John G. Guillory is a General Manager who works with Expand, Inc., (a residential remodeling firm in Baton Rouge) to be the common point of contact between clients (sales, design and execution) and Expand, Inc. John’s design experience (over 44 years in residential design) allows him to communicate a client’s desires to the design “Team” and bring these desires to fruition through the construction phase while maintaining the budget and schedule. John’s passion for design and Aging In Place earned him a seat on the NAHB writing committee for the recently released, CAPS III designation course.
