Acquisition/Rehabilitation vs. Resyndication: Key Rules, Differences & Best Practices: Webinar: NAHB: December 2, 2:00 PM (ET)

Includes a Live Web Event on 12/02/2026 at 2:00 PM (EST)

Acquisition/rehabilitation and resyndication transactions can bring new Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) to existing properties, but the rules differ in important ways. Understanding these requirements early can help owners, developers, syndicators and compliance professionals avoid delays, prevent compliance issues and successfully deliver tax credits.

In this webinar, experts will break down the federal LIHTC requirements for acquisition/rehabilitation and explain how they apply to resyndication transactions. Explore household qualification, prior income certifications, federal safe harbors, state Housing Finance Agency requirements, placed-in-service dates and first-year credit requirements.

Through practical examples, learn how to plan due diligence, coordinate resident qualification and rehabilitation activities and establish qualified occupancy to support successful credit delivery and long-term compliance.
