Beyond ADA: Rethinking Residential Accessibility & Aging-in-Place Design: Shop Talk: NAHB: November 5, 1:00 PM (ET)

Includes a Live Web Event on 11/05/2026 at 1:00 PM (EST)

When designing accessible homes, ADA standards can be a useful reference, but they don't tell the whole story. For remodelers and CAPS professionals, the goal is more than meeting a standard. It's creating homes that support independence, safety, comfort and changing needs.

In this practical Shop Talk, accessibility expert and interior designer Maegan Blau breaks down the differences between ADA requirements, residential accessibility, universal design and individualized accommodations. Learn how to apply accessibility thinking earlier in the remodeling and design process to create homes that work better for the people who live in them, without sacrificing style.

Exclusively for NAHB Members & Credential Holders: Free registration for members after login. If you have not set up your NAHB account, please visit: www.nahb.org/register or call 202.266.8313.
