Decreasing the Potential for Liabilities Associated with Green and High Performance Building
- Registration Closed
Green and high performance building is a rapidly growing industry, evoking the potential for previously unconsidered or under-appreciated liability risks related to both building and design. Green builders, remodelers and other building industry professionals can decrease their risk through proper messaging, effective documentation and detailed planning. The entire team, from sales to warranty, must understand the proper terminology, what statements can be made, and how the process in itself provides a level of protection.
By completing this module, you will be able to:
- Establish proactive ways to decrease the potential liability areas that can occur with any green building project.
- List five key issues that should be addressed in the green section of any construction contract.
- Assess how effective project management can decrease liability on green projects.
- Discuss the value of a home owner’s manual in reducing liability risk.
