By completing this course, participants in this course will be able to:

  • Provide an overview of Job Costing and its importance in residential home building and remodeling
  • Explain NAHB’s Chart of Accounts and how it can be used for Job Costing
  • Outline the steps involved in the Job Costing process
  • Identify common challenges in Job Costing and best practice for overcoming them

Note: It is strongly recommended to take NAHB’s Business Accounting course before Job Costing.

This course deals primarily with direct costs. (Indirect costs and overhead costs are entailed in NAHB’s Accounting and Financial Management Course.)

NAHB Credit: This class is eligible for 3 continuing education credits

3 AIA/CES LU: NAHB is a Registered Provider with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems. Credit earned on completion of this course will be reported to CES Records for AIA members by NAHB. Certificates of Completion for non-AIA members are available upon request.
