NAHB Credit: This course provides six hours of continuing education credits for these NAHB designations: CGA, CGB, CGR, GMB, CSP, Master CSP, CMP and MIRM.
NAHB Designations: This course is required for the NAHB Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation. This course can be an elective for the Master CSP and CGA designations.

Steve Hoffacker, CAPS, CEAC, SHSS (Steve Hoffacker LLC, West Palm Beach, Florida) is an internationally known and widely respected aging in place, universal design, and visitability advocate, instructor, author, and consultant. He also is a professional sociologist and former urban planner. He is a Certified Aging In Place Specialist, NAHB CAPS Instructor of the Year for 2015, and a NAHB Master Instructor, a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC), a Senior Home Safety Specialist (SHSS), and member of Age Safe America, National Aging In Place Council, American Occupational Therapy Association, National Council on Independent Living, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association. He publishes the “Aging-In-Place Insider” blog daily for industry professionals and aging-in-place providers and maintains the groups on LinkedIn and Facebook, both named “Aging & Accessibility,” which anyone can join. Steve has a history of working in the home building industry in some capacity for more than 30 years, and for the past 11 of those years has been helping contractors, remodelers, handymen, custom builders. real estate professionals, occupational and physical therapists, architects, insurance agents, attorneys, lenders, and so many other interested professionals to create, modify, and provide new and existing homes to allow people the greatest ease of access and mobility, safety, comfort, and convenience as they remain in those home for as long as they desire.
