Water Efficiency
- Registration Closed
With limited water resources, rising demand and decreasing supply, it is surprising that most people give little thought to where water comes from and where it goes after it is used. Creating water-efficient practices involves changing the thinking and behavior of the consumer. In fact, some jurisdictions already offer incentives to existing homes but require mandates for new construction. Water concerns are increasing in many building projects and will surely direct development and growth in the near future. This module covers water efficiency strategies that can enable building industry professionals to respond to this vitally important environmental concern.
By completing this module, you will be able to:
- Discuss the impact of rising water demand combined with increasing water scarcity.
- Describe several practices for efficient indoor water use promoted by the ICC/ASHRAE 700-2015 National Green Building Standard™ (NGBS).
- Identify outdoor water efficiency approaches promoted through compliance with NGBS.
- List mandatory and several innovative water-efficient practices acknowledged in NGBS.
